November 15-16
2011 SENIOR AMATEUR TOUR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. The Senior Amateur Tour is bringing its season-ending championship back to the Pinehurst area for the third straight year, and National Golf Club has been selected as the tournament's primary venue. The championship takes place Nov. 15-16th and is expected to draw more than 300 golfers from eight states. The tour will use National's Jack Nicklaus signature course both days, along with Pine Needles and Seven Lakes CC. TURKEY TROT. 8:30 am. Partnering with the Pinehurst Recreation and Parks, the 31st Annual event will begin and end at Cannon Park in Pinehurst. All new course routes will take you through the quaint little village and into the residential areas of this restort town. Races range from 1 mile fun run to 1/2 marathon and race times are staggered. For registration information, please visit www.active.com. 30th ANNUAL SEAGROVE POTTERY FESTIVAL. 9am - 5pm. Admission $5 for each day, Members and children under 12 free wtih an adult. Come and see the work of the largest pottery community in the U.S. Seagrove area potters and traditional craftsmen will be demonstrating and selling their wares. The fifth Annual Reindeer Fun Run 5k Run/Walk is a FUN community event with a goal of 2,500 participants ranging from serious runners to recreational walkers, families, pets and local businesses. The goal is to generate holiday cheer while raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of the Sandhills, Inc. The start this year is in Aberdeen. A Tuna Christmas is the second in a series of comedic plays (Greater Tuna, Red, White and Tuna and Tuna Does Vegas), each set in the fictional town of Tuna Texas, the “third smallest” town in the state.
